We hope you can join us on the opening weekend of the Frink Studio re-installed at Messums Wiltshire. Complementing the Frink studio are two exhibitions that further bring her work and world to life: White Out of Dark – Saving Frink’s Plasters by photographer Ian Chapman documents the rescue of a body of original plasters created by Elisabeth Frink that had been removed from her home and studio at Woolland and stored in a warehouse following her death in 1993.
These remarkable photographs will be shown alongside a never before seen body of etchings by Ti Parks (1939 – 2017). From the late 1970s until 2006, Ti became a close family friend of Frink and her son Lin Jammet and spent many weekends and holidays at Woolland. His drypoint etchings capture the essence of that time and we are delighted to bring both bodies of incredible works to a new audience.
At the other end of the Barn, Bridget McCrum’s most recent works are presented alongside the sculpture Lis Frink purchased in the 1980s re-igniting a friendship that had started as young girls in Dorset during the War.
